Fabulous Vintage Fabric Bags

Today’s blog is a showcase for vintage fabric bags. There are so many gorgeous ones out there (including mine!) and they deserve to be written about.

So, my favourites from a recent search

Sally & Jane   Beautiful clutches from identical twins who love to be crafty.

Kara Smith makes one off handmade handbags that are individually named and come with fab extras such as pockets, vintage buttons and recycled buckles.

All patterns and designs are created by Kara herself.

Retrofied  Home of lovely things handcrafted from a mix of vintage, repurposed, remnant & contemporary materials.

I love the attention to detail on this lovely bag below such as the cute floral lining and fabric covered button. Nice!

Kiki’s Rewind Designs  has wonderful vintage fabric tool belts for women who garden, quilt or craft. These are also great for a market stall so I’ll just have to order one!

Kiki also has lovely clutch bags.

I’ve blogged about Retro Elephant before and I just love their retro clutch bags. Their products are made by hand from recycled textiles from the 60’s and 70’s, preferably in bright colors!

The result is unique and environmentally friendly products with a true retro touch.

Ella O Six has wonderful bags and every piece is made or customised with pride by Ella herself.  What I love most about Ella’s bags is her choice of vintage fabric, it’s right up my street.

Audrey’s Cat has gorgeous slouchy boho shoulder bags, this one featured below is my favourite.
Last (and certainly not least!) are my own Fabulous Vintage products.
Rare vintage fabric is carefully sourced and up-cycled into fabulous bags which are sold on Madeit and Blue Caravan ethical design market.

Gorgeous hey!
Until next time,
Bridget

I still love eBay!

Despite it’s seller fees and crap listing designer templates I still love eBay and I’m constantly looking for bargains.

I’m now selling vintage fabric remnants and pieces I can’t use in my eBay sale shop ‘fabulous_vintage_shop’.

Please spread the word!

Thanks so much.

Bridget

Miss Moss Gorgeous Accessories

Sunday, the day after a giant community recycle and sell day and what a brilliant day it was. The streets were chock-a-block with happy customers and buyers and West Street, North Sydney was buzzing. Lovely to enjoy a glass of wine in the sunshine and raise cash to buy more fabulous vintage fabric.

I sometimes struggle to find subjects to blog about so some sound advice given to me by a journalist friend, to write about what interests me, has been invaluable.  A big thank you to the lovely Siobhan at MissMoss.

MISS MOSS is a fashion and accessories label that is available online and in select Australian and New Zealand stores.

Online collections can be viewed in an e-boutique or shopping website hardtofind and products are designed and manufactured exclusively by them and for them.

Collections include: natural  fibre  garments and scarves, bold costume jewellery, suede and leather bags and sterling silver/semi precious accessories.

MISS MOSS supports fair and ethical trade and frequently supports charities and good causes.

My favourite Miss Moss accessories are pictured below.

New Project – Vintage Fabric & Jacquard Ribbon Belts

I bought a most beautiful Hadley Pollet reversible belt in San Francisco a few years back and I still really love it. It looks fab with jeans and denim skirts.

BelleBags also have some lovely fabric & Jacquard ribbon belts.

Check out these stunning ribbons found on Etsy at LesBonRibbon and also at Renaissance Ribbons and LFN Textiles. My favourites are by Kaffe Fassett and Laura Foster Nicholson.

I have wanted to introduce a range of vintage fabric belts for a while. Hadley Pollet’s range and these beautiful ribbons have provided the inspiration to get this project moving.

I’m going to team vintage floral fabrics with stunning Jacquard ribbon to make reversible belts finished with a handmade wooden buckle or bright acrylic buckle. They’ll be vintage 1970s inspired and perfect for jazzing up jeans or a mac.  See pics of gorgeous belt buckles and vintage fabrics below.

I’ve just found this super cool gorgeous vintage 1970s mac on vintage clothes shop Bows & Bandits and I’ve got to have it.

All it needs is a Fabulous Vintage 1970s inspired belt to brighten it up!

I can’t wait for my stock of ribbon to arrive so I can get going on this project!
