Vintage Fabric Cushions

I’ve been looking on the internet at Australian designers and artisans selling vintage fabric cushions and I’m sharing my list of favourites.

First is the fantastic Funky Fabrix website.  In addition to a great range of ready made cushions they also have a custom made cushion service. You can choose from a huge range of fabulous vintage fabrics from their sister site 100% Vintage. My favourite vintage fabric cushion is this one.

I also love this one from the 100% Vintage website.

I’m pleased to say my website page, Fabulous Vintage vintage cushions, came nearly top in Google’s ranking. My hard work on S.E.O. has at last paid off. My favourite Fabulous Vintage cushions are of course Floppy Poppy and Rhea, both are vintage Sanderson fabrics.

Sally Campbell’s gorgeous website is also a favourite. Sally has some beautiful vintage fabric cushions made from vintage handmade textiles as well as amazing vintage throws. Sally sources her handmade textiles in India and they are made by artisans. All quilts, throws and cushions are either ‘hand-dyed’, ‘hand-stitched’, ‘hand-woven’ or ‘hand block-printed’. As a result they fade naturally and imperfections are part of their charm. Here is a selection from Sally’s website.

A quick look on Etsy and I find Moth Cushions, a range of one of a kind and limited edition, beautifully crafted cushions. Each cushion is created from vintage and retro fabrics, bedspreads, curtains, tea towels and tablecloths sourced from linen presses around the world.

So ends this week’s little blog, I do hope you enjoyed it.

Vintage Fabric Finds on eBay & Etsy

Hello and oops! It’s been a while since my last post. The reason? SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMISATION.

I have a customer who is both a copy writer and SEO expert so we traded cushions for advice. It was such good advice that I’ve spent the last three weeks updating the layout and all the copy on my Fabulous Vintage website.

As I still have a lot to do, I’ll keep this one short and sweet.

There has been lack of good vintage fabric finds on eBay UK over the last few weeks. I suspect the reason is, the British are out there soaking up the last few rays of summer sun and not scouring the attic for things to sell.

eBay UK:

I’m afraid you won’t find this beautiful vintage bark cloth fabric on eBay now, as I’ve just bought it to add to my collection. It will be winging its way to Australia soon, so you’ll be able to find it on my website at the end of October. I was immediately attracted to the beautiful rainbow colours and as soon as I realised it was barkcloth I snapped it up. All four metres of it, yippee!

eBay Australia

I’m loving barkcloth at the moment and there is a beautiful piece on eBay Australia for sale by Vintage Linen Cupboard. I’m undecided whether or not to bid on this piece. I really love it and could imagine it made into a beautiful bedroom lampshade…decisions, decisions.

Vintage Fabric Barkcloth Pink Rose Sprays

eBay USA

This gorgeous piece is located in Michigan so will be costly to shop to Australia, however it’s so pretty it might just be worth it. This lovely fabric would be fabulous made into kitchen bench seat or kitchen chair cushions with a pair of curtains or tablecloth to match.

Etsy

I’ve just stumbled across a gorgeous vintage fabric shop on the ever wonderful Etsy. It’s called Fabbits and is located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Here is a gorgeous piece, currently for sale in Olga’s shop.

That’s all from me today folks!

Vintage Fabric Finds On eBay & Etsy

I realise I need to blog more frequently if I am to make it worthwhile, but what to write? I’m thinking an eBay vintage fabric watch will work well as a weekly blog. Let me know what you think about this post. I enjoy sharing my love of vintage textiles and I hope you find a bargain to add to your collection. Click on the images to go to eBay & Etsy listings.

eBay.com.au

This gorgeous piece looks like it’s from the 1970s although the description does not say. I’ve asked the seller and she’s not sure. I’ve taken a chance and bought a 3m piece to use in a vintage fabric wall art installation at Cafe 88 in North Sydney. There are more listings for the same fabric if you want to try your luck.

I love this Swedish retro valance from the 1970s, it would look stunning made into a lampshade, just not sure if it’s wide enough. It would also make a gorgeous table runner.  Currently a steal at £4.50.

This fabulous set of place mats from the 1960’s is priced at £19.99. Crafted from a linen fabric with a dark burgundy background and a bright splash of mod style flowers. Perfect for a garden setting and would go beautifully on the table with the retro valance above.

eBay.com

Looking for retro bargains on eBay.com can be like searching for a needle in a haystack unless you are specific with your search words. On a recent visit I came across this fabulous orange fringe which I need to find a use for to justify the purchase. It’s currently at US $9.00 with three days to go.

Etsy

A hunt for vintage fabric should always include a visit to Etsy. This fab retro tablecloth from Pomme De Jour is just gorgeous.

That’s it for today’s post, I hope you enjoyed it.

New Project – Vintage Fabric & Jacquard Ribbon Belts

I bought a most beautiful Hadley Pollet reversible belt in San Francisco a few years back and I still really love it. It looks fab with jeans and denim skirts.

BelleBags also have some lovely fabric & Jacquard ribbon belts.

Check out these stunning ribbons found on Etsy at LesBonRibbon and also at Renaissance Ribbons and LFN Textiles. My favourites are by Kaffe Fassett and Laura Foster Nicholson.

I have wanted to introduce a range of vintage fabric belts for a while. Hadley Pollet’s range and these beautiful ribbons have provided the inspiration to get this project moving.

I’m going to team vintage floral fabrics with stunning Jacquard ribbon to make reversible belts finished with a handmade wooden buckle or bright acrylic buckle. They’ll be vintage 1970s inspired and perfect for jazzing up jeans or a mac.  See pics of gorgeous belt buckles and vintage fabrics below.

I’ve just found this super cool gorgeous vintage 1970s mac on vintage clothes shop Bows & Bandits and I’ve got to have it.

All it needs is a Fabulous Vintage 1970s inspired belt to brighten it up!

I can’t wait for my stock of ribbon to arrive so I can get going on this project!
